The Raising Thinkers Podcast is Now a Family Co-Listening Adventure!
Turn your school commute into a screen-free family adventure! The Raising Thinkers podcast now features interactive math puzzles and logic games for K-4th graders.
E46 World Cup Locker Room Lockout and E47 World Cup Final Challenge
If you are tired of the same repetitive kids' songs on the way to school, it's time for a change. After several seasons of sharing child development advice with parents, the Raising Thinkers podcast is officially pivoting to a brand-new format! We are transforming your morning commute into an interactive, screen-free family co-listening experience. Instead of passive advice, we are bringing audio escape rooms, math mysteries, and logic puzzles directly to your backseat. It is an elite cognitive workout for K-4th graders, disguised as a fun audio adventure that the whole family can solve together.
To make the learning "sticky," every episode weaves in Spanish vocabulary as secret codes—a bilingual strategy called translanguaging that builds adaptable neural pathways. We also use hands-on, tactile math strategies inspired by Singapore Math and Harvard Project Zero. Twice a week, I will give your Thinkers a challenge, we will pause the audio, and your family will work together to crack the code before you reach the drop-off line. At the very end of each episode, I’ve included a brief "Parent Corner" to explain the cognitive science behind the day's puzzle.
To kick off our new format, our first two episodes transport us to the biggest sporting event on the planet: The 2026 World Cup Final! In our Tuesday Brain Warm-Up (Ages 6-7), we tackle the World Cup Locker Room Lockout. Señor Mateo accidentally locked the players' cleats inside the locker room, and your kids must use Spanish spatial directions (derecha/izquierda) and place-value addition to unlock the door before the referee blows the whistle.
Then, in our Thursday Brain Bender (Ages 8-9), we step up the difficulty with The World Cup Press Box. You and your Thinker are sports reporters who are locked out of the broadcasting booth! To get on the air and announce the Golden Boot winner, your family will calculate the perimeter of the penalty box and use mental algebraic bar-modeling to figure out the exact goal difference between Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham.
Are you ready to turn your next family road trip or school commute into an engaging brain-teaser? Grab your kids, hit play on the new episodes, and let’s raise some thinkers! Don't forget to join the Master Thinkers Club right here at RaisingThinkers.io to download our free monthly companion printables, submit your challenge answers for custom certificates, and even get your child's voice featured on the podcast!
